abstract = "This study uses the potentialities of the remote sensing to
monitor in the time and in the space the dynamics of the use and
occupation of the Earth in Rio Nioaques hydrograph Basin, MS. The
remote sensing is one of the important tools for the monitory of
the natural phenomena and atrophics that it has been molding the
terrestrial surface. In this context, it is very important the
application of their products in the use and occupation of the
earth for the understanding of the patterns of space organization.
This monitory consists of looking for knowledge of the use on the
part of the man or, when it is not used by the man, the
characterization of the types of category of natural vegetation
which covers the soil, as well as their respective locations. The
hydrograph basin of Nioaque River is the study object in this work
and it is located in Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil. Nioaque
River has great importance as flowing of Miranda's River right
border, and it is for its time, important flowing of Paraguays
River left border. The study area is comprehended by the parallels
20°35' and 21°35' S and meridians 55°30' and 56°10' W.Gr., and
with an area of approximately 3260 km2. The determination of the
use and occupation of the earth is possible through the
classification of the Satellites images of the series Landsat
obtained in the years of 1990, 1999 and 2008, using the software
SpringŪ 4.33/INPE. It is proved the accelerated atrophic
occupation to the detriment of the primary vegetation, as well as
the effectiveness of the studies supported in geothecnologys.",
